CGH Technologies, Inc. Named as Finalist in the 5th Annual Stevie® Awards For Women In Business November 3, 2008 CGH Technologies, Inc. was named a Finalist in the Technology Innovator of the Year category in The 5th Annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business. The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run – worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards.Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word “crowned,” winners will be announced during a gala event at the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York on Friday, November 14. Nominated women executives and entrepreneurs from the U.S. and several other countries are expected to attend.
More than 1,200 entries were submitted for consideration in 50 categories, including Best Executive, Best Entrepreneur, and Best Community Involvement Program. CGH Technologies, Inc. is a Finalist in the Technology Innovator of the Year category. In support of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Obstruction Evaluation Airport Airspace Analysis (OE/AAA) program, CGH has developed and deployed an internet mapping system to all 9 regions nationwide within the FAA. The system was designed to assist the FAA decision-makers in determining whether proposed land structures (cell towers, buildings etc.) should be approved or disapproved because of potential interference with FAA operations. In addition to providing interactive dynamic mapping and GIS capabilities, the system serves as the holder of all site status information. Instead of having each FAA region develop their own applications and databases and storing these locally (requiring GIS developers, computers, and a huge amount of storage space), the FAA tasked the headquarters Air Traffic Division (which CGH supports) to create a national OE/AAA database and develop a mapping application that the regions can access through their internet browsers. Finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging. Members of the Awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs will select Stevie Award winners from among the Finalists during final judging.
“Being named a Finalist in The Stevie Awards for Women in Business is an important achievement,” said Michael Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards. “It means that independent business executives have agreed that the nominee is worthy of recognition. We congratulate all of the Finalists on their achievement and wish them well in the competition.” CGH 's President Cindy Troutman comments, “CGH is extremely proud to be recognized and considered as a finalist for such a prestigious award. We owe our success to the dedication of our staff who are committed to providing services and solutions that make a difference in our customers environments. It would not be an award without thanking those staff members who support the OE/AAA system development and to our FAA customer who provided us the opportunity to support them.” |
