International Clients

For over two decades, CGH Technologies has created tools and processes that have impacted clients with an international focus, such as the Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of Defense. In the last year, however, CGH has made a decision to bring some of its process, platform and service expertise to a global marketplace.

The first client in this international expansion is the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA), a well-respected commercial semi-state company employing approximately 700 people at six locations around Ireland. The IAA has two main functions: the provision of air traffic management and related services in Irish controlled airspace, and the safety regulation of the civil aviation industry in Ireland. Following an intensive international audit by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in 2010, Ireland was ranked in the top ten countries worldwide in the safety oversight of civil aviation, ahead of countries such as the United States, Brazil and Australia.

CGH PROJECTS FOR THE IRISH AVIATION AUTHORITY

Based on our extensive experience in Aeronautical Information Management, GIS 3D and 4D mapping, and data management at the United States Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), CGH was selected by the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) as the sole supplier to provide an innovative Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) for aeronautical data origination. While being audited by ESPION and HELIOS for cloud security and ADQ, ASSET Cloud-based SaaS will allow the IAA to effectively collect and maintain aeronautical data, conduct obstacle airspace analysis, and manage data for global transparency. This functionality also will allow the IAA to have their data available for any requesting authority, and will allow them to comply with the latest Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM) standards. ASSET is able to provide NOTAMS, iAIP and a critical component of airspace in that ASSET allows you to plan RPAS events and allows airspace changes.

Moving beyond real-time use of the data, the new CGH functionality will allow IAA planners to perform their analysis on the web via CGH’s proprietary ASSET SaaS service. These analyses will be completed using far less staff resources and will be completed in a fraction of the time it takes presently to complete these analyses. While considering Annex 14, 15 and Annex 6 OEI surfaces, ASSET takes an in-depth look considering CNS business restricted areas as well as airspace.

Mapping the data will harmonize the IAA’s procedure design by ASSET, providing the authoritative data to aerodrome and facility personnel. It also will be useful for analysis by Ireland’s military and public aviation specialists.
